Every bloom on Bloomquist Jody Lynn looks hand painted. Creamy petals carry a rim of pink and deepen toward a dark burgundy centre, so the colour shifts as the flower opens and no two look quite alike. The informal decorative blooms sit in the four to five inch range, full and slightly loose, with real presence in a bunch.
Plants grow tall and strong, usually reaching four to five feet, and send up a steady supply of long stems from midsummer to frost. It was bred by Paul Bloomquist of Lynden, Washington, who named it for the late daughter of close friends, and it carries that care in how it performs. Pair it with soft creams and dusty pinks, or let the dark centre echo a deep burgundy elsewhere in the bouquet.
