Opening a soft apricot and settling into a gentle salmon pink, Coorabell Jessie is one of those colours that flatters everything around it. The blooms are small to medium decoratives with tidy, evenly placed petals and a polished, show-bench finish. There is nothing fussy about the form, just clean symmetry and a glow that photographs well in morning light. Australian breeders the Wedd family released it, and it has since travelled far on reputation alone.
This is a tall, vigorous plant that throws long, straight stems and keeps throwing them, so give it room and a sturdy stake. Vase life runs a reliable week or more, which is why florists ask for it by name. It tolerates humid summers without sulking and the tubers store easily, making it a sensible choice for a first-time grower as well as the seasoned collector. Pair it with cream, blush and dusty rose for a soft, romantic mix.
