Named for the old fashioned roses it resembles, Letterkenny Tea Rose is a formal decorative with an antique, layered colour. The blooms carry a rose pink that deepens into richer tones toward the petal bases, so the overall effect is a dark blend rather than a flat pink. Petals are neatly arranged in the tidy, symmetrical pattern that defines the form, and the flowers run around four to five inches. It looks like something cut from a vintage garden.
The plant has the sturdy build and good stems of a well selected formal decorative, and it settles comfortably into a cutting row. Its romantic tones pair with blush, cream, dusty mauve and burgundy for a moody, garden gathered look. A great fit for anyone collecting Canadian bred varieties or building a palette of antique pinks.
