Carl Chilson is an elegant informal decorative dahlia featuring creamy white blooms that radiate quiet charm. Each flower measures about 4 inches across, with softly frilled petals that give the bloom gentle texture and dimension.
In the garden, Carl Chilson is a standout for both productivity and vigor. Plants grow to about 4 to 5 feet tall and bloom steadily from mid-season onward, but what truly sets this variety apart is its exceptional tuber production. It reliably forms large, healthy clumps and is one of the best varieties for growers looking to increase stock year over year.
With strong stems, clean colour, and excellent vase life, it’s a favourite for wedding work, neutral palettes, and high-volume cutting gardens.
