True to its gemstone name, Hollyhill Amethyst is classed as a purple waterlily. Waterlily dahlias open into shallow, graceful blooms with broad petals, giving a softer look than the formal forms. It belongs to the Hollyhill line of dahlias from Ted Kennedy in Oregon.
Waterlily forms are prized by florists because their open faces and lighter heads sit beautifully in arrangements. A purple bloom pairs well with lavender, blush, silver foliage and deep burgundy. It suits anyone building a cutting garden with a cool, jewel toned palette.
