A cantaloupe pun with a flower to match. The blooms are a warm apricot orange with soft peach undertones and a deeper rosy glow at the heart, and the stellar form gives each petal a gentle fold and backward sweep so the flower looks lively from every angle. At around four to four and a half inches it is a comfortable medium size with a slightly ruffled, informal feel.
A 2024 release from Oregon breeder Eugene Kenyon, it grows to about four and a half feet and blooms mid season on good stems. Orange dahlias can be hard to place, but this one has enough peach in it to sit happily with coral, blush and cream, and it looks wonderful against burgundy foliage or deep plum flowers. Growers who have trialled it tend to call it their favourite orange, which is high praise in a crowded colour.
