Warm candy pink with a light dusting of white at the petal tips, Lee's Saltwater Taffy looks exactly like its namesake pulled fresh from the wrapper. The five-inch blooms are tidy and fully double, with a clean decorative form that holds its shape in the vase. The white tipping varies from flower to flower, so no two stems are quite the same. It is a cheerful, nostalgic colour that works in both casual and polished arrangements.
Bred by Lee's Dahlias at Goldenrod Gardens in Tennessee and first shared in 2023, it grows about four and a half feet with long, slightly dark stems that are made for cutting. Plants flower in repeated flushes from midsummer to frost if you keep them picked. It pairs sweetly with white, blush and soft coral, and it suits anyone who likes their pinks playful rather than prim. Still a newer variety, so stock is limited.
