Warm gold with a hint of apricot, Lee's Turmeric Tea is the colour of a mug held up to afternoon light. The informal decorative blooms open to around five inches, with large, pillowy petals that give the flower a soft, relaxed texture rather than a stiff show-bench look. It is a gentle yellow, easy to use and never harsh.
Introduced in 2023 by Goldenrod Gardens in Tennessee, it grows tall and robust, usually four and a half to five feet, with long straight stems that make cutting a pleasure. The plants are generous and the tubers are easy to handle in storage. Pair it with cream, bronze and soft orange for a warm autumn bouquet, or let it brighten a mix of blush and burgundy. A good pick for anyone who loves a golden dahlia but wants a softer touch.
