Small, neat and surprisingly eye-catching, RM Fairy Wings pairs peach and pink in a soft bicolour that lightens toward the petal tips. The formal decorative form keeps every petal in its place, so the blooms read as tidy little rosettes rather than loose ruffles. At around four inches they are the perfect scale for mixed bunches and bud vases. Even growers who do not usually reach for this form admit it stops them in the field.
Hailey Sly of River Merle Farm bred this one, and like her other RM introductions it is prolific and generous with tubers. Plants grow four to five feet on strong stems and keep producing through the season. The gentle colouring blends easily with cream, apricot and blush, and it is a lovely filler alongside larger pastel dinnerplates. Suits a cutting garden where you want lots of stems without fuss.
