Sandia Bertha is a striking waterlily-form dahlia producing large 6-7 inch blooms in rich, saturated shades of deep burgundy and electric purple. The smooth, gently cupped petals create the classic open form of waterlily dahlias, giving the flowers an elegant, luminous presence in the garden and the vase.
The intense colouring carries a dramatic warmth, often appearing almost glowing in late summer light. Paired with glossy deep green foliage, the blooms create a bold contrast that adds depth and richness to floral arrangements.
Hybridized by Steve and Sandy Boley of Birch Bay Dahlias and introduced in 2023, Sandia Bertha combines strong garden performance with eye-catching colour. Its large blooms and refined form make it a standout choice for cutting gardens and dramatic bouquet work.
