There is a soft light in Skipley Moonglow that is hard to describe until you see it. The ball-shaped blooms, a little over three and a half inches, are a pale buttercream washed with the faintest rose blush, so they seem to glow at dusk and in low light. The form is tight and even, with petals rolled into a neat honeycomb.
Plants are on the compact side at around three feet and flower freely, so it fits well in a smaller cutting bed. The colour is made for wedding work and sits effortlessly with white, blush, peach and soft yellow. Bred at Skipley Farm in Washington, it is a reliable ball dahlia that bridges the gap between cream and yellow in a palette.
