From the respected Westerton line of British show dahlias, Westerton Sunset is a small formal decorative in a deep burgundy red. The colour is rich and even, and unlike many dark reds it holds its depth in full sun instead of bleaching at the edges. Petals are tightly and symmetrically arranged into the precise outline that wins on the show bench. The blooms are modest in size, which keeps that intense colour feeling refined rather than heavy.
Plants grow to around four feet with the straight, sturdy stems that exhibition breeders select for, and they produce freely through the season.
