Cheiro Roxa, meaning “purple fragrance”, is a Brazilian chilli with small, squat pods that are dark purple and lighten to a purple-pink as they ripen. It is very aromatic, with a fruity, floral flavour and a bright heat.
Plants grow about 90 cm tall and are heavily loaded with small pods, making them attractive enough for a flower bed. It has a long history of use in Brazilian cooking.
