Rich and moody, Blues Bird layers a velvety plum purple over deep magenta. In some light the blooms read almost black, while in others the purple glows through. The formal decorative petals sit neatly in rows, which shows off the depth of the colour.
Plants are listed at about three feet, a manageable height for borders and cutting beds. Growers note it blooms prolifically and makes a good cut flower. Its dark tones add contrast to bouquets with pink, peach or chartreuse, and suit anyone who loves a dramatic flower.
