Tiny, tidy and full of charm, these little formal decorative blooms measure about two inches across. Each petal is edged in white and blushes inward to soft purple and pink at the base, so the flower glows a little deeper toward its heart. The neat, layered rows give it a buttoned up look that suits its storybook name.
Plants reach roughly two and a half to three feet and start blooming early, then keep going strong right to the end of the season. The small flowers are perfect for bud vases, boutonnieres and delicate arrangements where a larger dahlia would overwhelm. It comes from the breeding of Paul Bloomquist in Washington State and is a lovely choice for anyone who loves miniature forms.
