Neat, rolled petals stack into a flattened little ball on Genova, each one pale lavender to white and tipped in deep violet. The tips read as fine purple edging on young flowers, and the colour deepens as the bloom matures, so a single stem can show several shades at once. Blooms run about 2 to 3.5 inches across, a tidy, button-like size.
Plants are vigorous but compact, reaching roughly 2 to 2.5 feet, and they produce a heavy crop of flowers on tall, strong stems. That makes Genova a natural for bouquets, where the violet tipped balls sit nicely beside lavender, plum and soft pink blooms. It also works at the front or middle of a border and in large containers. Pinch young plants for more stems.
