Splashes of red over a yellow base give Gloriosa its lively, variegated look. Each petal carries its own pattern, so no two blooms are quite the same. The formal decorative form keeps those markings tidy, with flat petals arranged in even rows. Blooms fall in the medium size range.
This Gloriosa was registered in 2003 by K. Connell of Tacoma, Washington. Variegated dahlias like this bring movement to an arrangement and pair well with solid reds, golds and oranges that pick up their markings. It suits gardeners who enjoy a bloom with a little surprise in it.
