Despite its name, this bloom is a vivid fuchsia pink, with a hint of violet in the petals and a warm tawny gold flush around the centre. The waterlily form opens flat and graceful, with broad, cupped petals in neat rings. That glint of gold at the heart makes the pink look even brighter. It is a confident colour that stands out in any planting.
Bred by Peter Haslhofer in Austria, it holds the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit for its garden performance. Plants grow bushy and upright, reaching about three to five feet, with dark green leaves and upright stems from summer until frost. Waterlily forms are prized by florists, and this one pairs beautifully with lime green, plum and soft orange. It suits gardeners who want a bold, reliable pink.
