Hollyhill Black Widow is a dramatic, high-impact dahlia known for its deep, velvety red petals so dark they often read as near-black in certain light. The blooms are densely layered with a rich, luxurious finish, giving this variety a moody elegance that stands apart from brighter reds. Flowers typically measure 4–6 inches and are borne on strong stems above plants that reach approximately 4–5 feet in height.
This variety is especially valued for its intensity of colour and presence. Hollyhill Black Widow works beautifully in sophisticated palettes, pair it with blush, soft peach, cream, dusty pink, or even chartreuse foliage for striking contrast. In the garden, it delivers consistent colour and form, while in arrangements it serves as a powerful focal flower with a refined, dramatic edge.
