Ruby Rose is classed as a red waterlily, with the open, gently cupped blooms the form is known for. Its name points to a rich, jewel toned red. It is part of the Hollyhill line of dahlias from Ted Kennedy in Oregon.
Waterlily dahlias are a favourite for arrangements, as their lighter heads and graceful shape mix easily with other flowers. A red like this pairs well with burgundy, deep pink, chocolate tones and dark foliage. It suits gardeners who want a bold colour in a refined, florist friendly form.
