Warm, light pink petals are often brushed with gold at the tips when the blooms open, a detail that gives this dahlia a gentle glow. As the flowers age they fade to a softer pink, so a single plant shows several shades at once. Blooms are small, around 3 to 4 inches, with a shape well suited to floral design.
Bred by Lee Hemmings Carlton at Goldenrod Gardens, it grows to about 4 feet and flowers freely all season, even through dry spells. Long stems and good vase life make it a practical cut flower. It mixes easily with peach, cream and other warm pinks. Named for a friend's grandmother, it suits anyone who loves soft, vintage colour.
