River's Watermelon

River’s Watermelon is a distinguished BB-BA-LB/L (Small Ball, Light Blend/Lavender) dahlia introduced in 2021 by Eugene Kenyon of River’s WB Dahlias (USA). The 4-6 inch blooms form a precise, symmetrical sphere with soft lavender tones blending into lighter pastel highlights. Its colour reads as a luminous lavender blend rather than a flat purple, giving it depth and sophistication.

This award-winning variety grows to approximately 4 feet in height and produces strong stems with excellent bloom consistency. The structured ball form and refined colouring make River’s Watermelon particularly valuable for exhibition growing and high-end bouquet work.

Its soft lavender tones pair beautifully with blush, antique cream, pale peach, muted plum, and soft mauve shades. It integrates seamlessly into romantic palettes while also adding cool-toned balance to warmer summer blends.
