Named for the coho salmon of the Pacific Northwest, this River Merle dahlia comes in a bright salmon shade that leans toward soft peachy orange. The informal decorative blooms are packed with petals and measure about 3.5 to 4 inches across. Some growers note subtle streaking in the colour, which adds depth up close.
Plants grow to around 4.5 feet with strong, sturdy stems, and stem length improves as the season goes on, so cutting deep early pays off later. Growers describe it as a prolific producer at a handy size for arranging. It pairs well with peach, coral and cream, and suits florists and gardeners who reach for warm tones all summer.
