Big, lush blooms of soft pink carry a kiss of creamy yellow deep in the centre, a pairing that brings to mind strawberry ice cream. The informal decorative petals are broad and gently wavy, giving the flower a relaxed, full look. Blooms reach 8 to 10 inches, squarely in dinnerplate territory.
Long, strong stems hold those large heads well, which is why florists reach for it in wedding work and large arrangements. Plants generally grow 3 to 5 feet and keep reblooming through the season. It sits beautifully beside blush, cream and soft apricot flowers. A showpiece for anyone who wants a gentle colour at a dramatic size.
