Tahoma Kelli opens a crisp white ball with a smoky lavender blush that deepens toward the centre. The rounded blooms are about 3 to 3.5 inches across and tightly built. Its colouring is quiet and refined rather than showy, which is exactly what makes it so useful.
Plants usually reach 3 to 4 feet, with some growers reporting taller. The blooms are known for a long vase life, and market growers rely on it as a dependable filler of soft colour. It comes from Les Connell, who bred dahlias in Washington State for over four decades. Wedding designers will appreciate how easily it sits beside blush, cream and mauve.
