True to its name, Tahoma Velvet has the deep, rich red of fine velvet. The formal decorative blooms are richly ruffled while still keeping an orderly shape. At five to six inches across, they are large enough to make an impact without overwhelming a vase.
This variety comes from Les Connell, a Washington State hybridizer active in the dahlia world for more than 45 years. Triple Wren Farms describes it as very productive with great vase life. Its saturated red works for holiday arrangements, wedding work with burgundy and blush, or a classic red border.
