Thomas Edison

Thomas Edison is a commanding dinnerplate dahlia celebrated for its magnificent deep purple blooms and striking garden presence. The impressive 8-inch flowers are full and dramatic, with richly layered petals that create a bold, rounded silhouette. The saturated purple colouring carries depth and intensity, making this variety especially eye-catching in both landscape and arrangement.

Plants grow to approximately 3-4 feet in height and produce strong stems capable of supporting these substantial blooms. With proper support, Thomas Edison performs reliably in cutting gardens, delivering large focal flowers ideal for statement bouquet work.

Its deep purple tones pair beautifully with bright red, tangerine, creamy ivory, dusty rose, muted plum, and jewel-toned palettes. It integrates seamlessly into dramatic wedding work, autumn arrangements, and high-impact garden displays.
