WD Wine Dot is a striking informal decorative dahlia distinguished by its saturated purple blooms brushed and flecked with creamy highlights. The petals appear almost hand-painted, with subtle tonal variation that gives each 4-inch flower depth and dimension. As the bloom matures, the layered structure creates a rich, velvety presence in both field and vase.
Plants reach approximately 4-5 feet in height and produce long, strong stems well-suited for cutting. Consistent stem length and reliable bloom production make this variety especially valuable for bouquet-focused growing, particularly in cooler-toned market palettes.
Its purple-and-cream colouring pairs beautifully with blush, dusty rose, soft lavender, muted plum, and creamy ivory. It integrates seamlessly into ’cool’ bouquet work, adding saturation and contrast without overpowering the arrangement.
