Bright yellow petals splashed with red speckles and stripes make AC Marlene impossible to overlook. The variegated blooms are large, about eight to ten inches across, in a semi-cactus form with partly rolled, pointed petals. No two flowers are marked quite the same.
Sellers note good stem length, which helps such a big bloom work in a tall vase. A sturdy stake and some disbudding help the plant carry its large flowers. It suits gardeners who love bold colour and want a conversation starter in the border.
