Pointed petals sweep back toward the stem on this little stellar dahlia, so each bloom looks almost feathered. The colour is a warm tomato soup red that reads clear and strong from across the garden. Flowers are compact, around 3 to 4 inches, with a lively, slightly windswept character.
The plant stays fairly compact at about 3 feet, which makes it easy to tuck into a mixed border or a cutting row. Its smaller blooms are handy for bud vases, posies and textured arrangements where a big flower would crowd things. Cut when about three quarters open for the best vase life. It suits anyone wanting a true red with plenty of movement.
