Smoky fuchsia petals with mauve overtones make this semi-cactus dahlia hard to pin down, with a colour some compare to watermelon. The rolled, pointed petals give each bloom a lively, starburst shape. Flowers reach about 6 inches across.
Introduced by Swan Island Dahlias in 1991, it grows to roughly 4 to 4.5 feet on strong stems. Those stems make it an excellent cut flower that holds its own in a vase. Its unusual tone pairs well with plum, burgundy and soft pink companions. A good choice for arrangers who like colour with some mystery.
