Swirling, upturned petals in a clear dark pink make this incurved cactus look a little like a sea anemone. Blooms reach six to eight inches, and the rays curl and twist more as each flower matures. It won the Derrill W. Hart medal in 2009 as the best B size flower in the trial gardens.
The plant is a strong grower that tolerates heat and full sun, and it can grow well over head height in rich soil. Sturdy stems hold the deep flowers above the foliage. It is a good pick for exhibitors and for anyone who wants a large, sculptural pink bloom in the vase.
