Mission Abyss is a formal decorative dahlia with deep burgundy blooms that darken to a near-black plum at the centre. Each flower is neatly layered with softly curved petals, giving it a rich, velvety look in the garden and in the vase.
The blooms are a manageable size and come on strong stems, which makes this variety easy to work into arrangements. Its dark, moody colour adds depth beside blush, peach, cream and white, and it is a favourite for late summer and autumn bouquets.
