Variegated colouring sets this stellar dahlia apart, with red markings that growers compare to the inside of a pomegranate. The petals have the narrow, pointed stellar form that gives the bloom an open, starry outline. Flowers usually measure around 5 inches across, sitting nicely in the medium range.
Plants reach about 3.5 feet and are described as prolific bloomers, which makes them good value in a cutting bed. The unusual colouring brings a playful note to mixed bouquets and pairs well with solid reds or creamy whites that echo its markings. It comes from River's Dahlias in Oregon. A fun pick for gardeners who enjoy something out of the ordinary.
