Soft, icy yellow petals tipped in shimmering gold give this new River Merle introduction a cool, bright look. Fine pinstripes run across the blooms, and the backs of the petals carry a subtle lavender tone, so the colour seems to change as you turn the flower. The formal decorative blooms are 3.5 to 4 inches across, a tidy size for bouquets.
Plants reach about 5 to 5.5 feet, which gives plenty of length for cutting. The small blooms are well suited to bouquets and mixed arrangements, where the lavender reverse ties in nicely with mauve and blush flowers. It is a fresh choice for anyone who wants a pale yellow with more nuance than a plain lemon.
